It was a victorious first international race for the PCKF National Team’s all-new crew at the ICF Dragon Boat World Championships held last August 28-31 in Poznan, Poland. The Philippine contingent won five gold medals, three silvers, and three bronzes in the 11 categories (men’s and mixed) that they joined. The paddlers, who remain unbeaten in the Philippine dragon boat scene, faced stiff competition from Russia, whom they raced against in all categories.
