Dear Fellow Dragon Boat Teams:
In 2014, dragon boat lost a great exemplar. Ruperto Sabijon was an accomplished athlete, an outstanding friend to the country’s dragon boat community, and a dedicated and loving family man. To honor the memory of our former Coach and friend, the members of ROGUE PILIPINAS PADDLERS CLUB have worked together to create the SABIJON CUP.
This dragon boat race event is a symbol of the spirit of sportsmanship, passion and camaraderie that Coach Sabijon epitomized. Through his hard work, patience and open heart, he fostered our enduring love for dragon boat.
Rogue Pilipinas Paddlers Club formally invites you to participate in the SABIJON CUP 2018 to be held in Manila Bay, Roxas Boulevard, Manila on December 2, 2018.
The event has three categories:
- OPEN 200 meters – SMALL BOAT (5 pairs, 1 pair reserve, 1 drummer, 1 helmsman)
- WOMEN’S 200 meters – SMALL BOAT (5 pairs, 1 pair reserve, 1 drummer, 1 helmsman)
- MIXED 200 meters – STANDARD BOAT (5 pairs men, 5 pairs women, 2 pairs reserve, 1 drummer, 1 helmsman)
