Mike MacKeddie-Haslam, the current IDBF president, has retired after 20 years as IDBF President. An IDBF Members Congress was held in Welland, Niagara, Canada last August 24, 2015, which saw the election of outgoing Chair of the Competition and Technical Commission, Mike Thomas. Thomas won the seat against Claudio Schermi in a 31-to-6 majority vote.
At the same Congress, Alan Van Caubergh was re-elected as IDBF Treasurer, Mel Cantwell was elected to replace Mike Thomas as the Chair of the Competition and Technical Commission, and Rex Yi, Bob McNamara and Angelina Ong were elected to the Media Commission.
